For this artwork, Frank Havermans drew inspiration from the passers-by at this green spot on the Hoornsedijk, alongside the Noord-Willemskanaal.

With his installation, Havermans aims to encourage residents, as well as walkers passing by on the Pieterpad and others, to pause for a moment and facilitate chance encounters. He has named his work Proathoes ’. With his ‘praathuis’, Havermans refers to the robust forms and sturdy materials found in shipbuilding – elements that can also be found in the immediate vicinity of his artwork.
