The Universiteitsmuseum has been a science museum in the academic heart of the student city of Groningen since 1934.

Experience science at the Universiteitsmuseum Groningen! Discover the long history of Groningen University and learn about the life of Aletta Jacobs and human anatomy. You will find the world's first electric car and the first Dutch satellite. Get to know our diverse collection interactively through stories about seven famous Groningen professors. The Universiteitsmuseum forms a bridge between science and society, for young and old.

Tip: celebrate your birthday party at the Universiteitsmuseum. Do experiments, such as making slime, shampoo or hair gel, and experience what it's like to be a researcher!

During school holidays in the northern Netherlands and in the summer months of July and August, the museum is also open on Mondays. During weekdays, the museum then opens at 10:00. Opening hours during holidays can be found on the website.
