For 100 years, Stadspark has been the backyard of the city of Groningen. A place where generations of Stadjers have come together for a century. And this year, we celebrate it extra well: with an extensive anniversary programme and lots of other activities, the Stadspark is a great place to be all summer long.

100 mushrooms in Stadspark

In the book 100 mushrooms in the Stadspark, visual artist Geertje Geertsma shows how special the Stadspark is as a green oasis in the city. That rich and varied nature makes the park an ideal place for mushrooms. With her drawings, made with the seasons, she brings the magic and biodiversity of this urban nature close to home in a book that is educational, artistic, playful and above all beautiful.

Evergreen Stadspark

That the Stadspark is green is certain. But who knows how to capture it best? In connection with the 100th anniversary of the Stadspark, IVN Groningen Haren organises the nature photo competition 'Eternal green in Stadspark'. With this competition, IVN puts nature in the Stadspark in the spotlight. Participants may send in their three most beautiful nature photos. There are two categories: Zoom in, for photos of plants, animals and mushrooms, for example, and Zoom out, for landscape images of the Stadspark.
