Come and see then

Theatre

Groninger theatres have been busy putting together interesting programming again recently. The Grand Theatre, for instance, has scheduled the performance Motus Mori: RELIQUIEM at the end of September, which focuses on human movement. At Martiniplaza, everything revolves around girlpower during the international hit musical SIX. Here, the six ex-wives of Henry VIII take the microphone and tell their stories. At the end of November, as every year, the Jonge Harten theatre festival is also scheduled. And not only the Groningen theatres have a full schedule, so do the theatre groups. For instance, Club Guy & Roni has developed the new production Faith, the Houten Huis is on stage with TERECHT and NITE is touring the Netherlands with the show Ocean Breeze. Would you rather not sit still all evening, but also like to walk? Then you can also join Het Verbond, a theatre walking tour of three unique performances in the city, at the end of September.

Music

When you say Groningen, you naturally also say a vibrant music scene. The pop halls in the city are once again filling up with big names and up-and-coming talents. But there is not only pop music to discover this autumn, lovers of classical music will also get their money's worth. SPOT and the North Netherlands Orchestra will join forces again in mid-October for a new edition of the classical festival Masterpiece. This time, you will learn all about 'Pictures of an Exhibition' by composer Modest Mussorgsky. A few weeks later, the NNO will also perform Gustav Holst's The Planets.

To the museum

Those who prefer to come and see culture at their own pace can visit one of the city's museums. Of course, including the Groninger Museum Museum where this year everything is dedicated to the Children's Biennial, but mid-November also sees the start of the new exhibition How Van Gogh came to Groningen. At the Forum, they have not one, but two exhibitions worth visiting. See the world through the lens of the best nature photographers and be surprised by Andres Serrano 's perspective on American society as well as Donald Trump. Further on, outside the city centre, you will find Wall House #2, which is actually worth visiting because of the building itself. Until the end of October, it also features the work of artists Richelle Brink and Silvio Zangarini. Extra nice: you can visit this exhibition for free.
