The Groninger Museum Museum is hosting the Children's Biennial until 3 November, with the theme'A better place'. In the new exhibition, you can see, feel and hear what 'a better place' looks like according to the youngest generation. This interactive exhibition challenges you to go on a journey of discovery and contribute to a better world yourself.
For and by children
Walking across the bridge to the museum, you are greeted by the six-metre-high Pissing Polar Bear - a good start to your visit. Enter the museum and a whole new world. With no fewer than 10 rooms full of art that invite you to play, build and let your imagination run wild.
What makes the Children’s Biennale special is that it was created with the help of 60 child ambassadors from the city and the surrounding countryside. As you enter, the children’s contributions are on display everywhere. Together with artists, they reflected on the work, wrote the exhibition texts and even helped to create the art. This makes the exhibition a real treat for the whole family.
“ Interactive, colourful and sustainable ”
Not just for browsing
In all areas of this special exhibition, you can do something. Crawl through the dark Wurm, play with emotions and move with the waves of the sea. Here, you can finally touch some museum pieces and don't have to keep your distance. The interactive installations with a message let both young and old fantasise about their ideal world.
