Relax with a touch of adventure
Half an hour's cycle from the city, a new campsite has opened since the beginning of this month: De Kleine Wereld. In Onnen, where De Fruitberg campsite used to be, campsite owners Bas and Annemieke open their doors. Here, how could it be otherwise, you really enter another world for a while. Unwind in nature, meet new people around the campfire or relax with a refreshing drink in the bistro. And although you can perfectly relax here, there is also plenty of opportunity for adventure: for young and old alike!
A place for everyone
With around 100 pitches, the campsite has suitable accommodation for everyone. You can come camping at camping De Kleine Wereld with your own tent, caravan or motorhome. There are various options for your camping adventure. You can go completely off-the-grid and book a pitch without electricity. With this option, you get an extra idyllic spot on the campsite where you wake up to birdsong. Want something more luxurious? Then choose the pitches on one of the green fields. But if you don't want to bring your own camping equipment, there are also cosy Swedish cottages for rent. The wooden 4-person cottages are super attractively furnished and have their own private terrace, air conditioning, rain shower and other luxury amenities.

World-class food up close
The shining centre of the campsite is bistro Landing. The cosy bistro with outdoor bar and terrace is there from noon to night and for everyone: you don't necessarily have to be a campsite guest to come here. From 12 noon onwards, you can go there for a freshly baked sandwich, a good cup of lager and cake from Paais. It is also an excellent place for a drink. In the evening, there are worldly dishes on the menu, though made with honest and mostly local ingredients. There are also special pizza nights when the pizza oven is lit and you can order the most delicious pizzas.
And besides the bistro, there is more: there is a nature playground for children next to the bistro and a campfire is often lit in the evening. There are also enough games in the bistro to engage in a real game tournament. Water fun is also provided for: there is a swimming pool with sunbathing area and even a hot tub. Just forgot to pick up something in the supermarket? No problem, there is a small campsite shop for the essentials.
Ideal base for adventure
The campsite's location is ideal. You can reach Groningen's bustling city centre super quickly, but on the other hand you can also completely unwind in the surrounding nature. For instance, the campsite is just a stone's throw away from the famous Pieterpad path. The third stage of this long-distance walking route, from Groningen to Zuidlaren, passes just a few hundred metres from the campsite. Nature reserve Onnerpolder is also around the corner from the campsite and perfect for birdwatchers and hiking enthusiasts. Zuidlaardermeer is also well worth a visit, where you can enjoy water sports or relax by the water's edge.
