It's part of autumn: the theatres start their programming. Midden-Groningen has both large and small venues. Some also allow you to develop your own talents.
Cultuurwerkplaats BC47
At Cultuurwerkplaats BC47 in Borgercompagnie, you can attend unique concerts and performances created by local or regional talent, such as Linde Nijland and Bert Ridderbos and the musical theatre performance 'Bedrieglijke passie'. Peter Molter of the BC47 Foundation says: "We offer both up-and-coming talent and established artists a place to present themselves and refine their performance, whether they are singer-songwriters, filmmakers or actors. You can also get involved yourself. Join jam sessions, perform solo or in a band or become an actor in the theatre or project choir."

In Hoogezand, Kielzog is the place to experience culture. In the theatre, you visit performances by regional, national and international artists. Would you like to get started yourself? Then there are plenty of courses for young and old, from playing instruments and dancing to acting and singing.

At Kaap Steendam on the Schildmeer, you can enjoy live music performances by mainly country or folk artists. Co-owner Hanne Wiepkema says: "We regularly organise Music Dinings, when we combine a dinner with live music. The idea is to let guests enjoy both food and music in a relaxed setting. The reactions are very positive. Guests find the combination surprising and atmospheric and enjoy the intimate, casual atmosphere. The combination with live music makes it feel different from an ordinary dinner."

Koepelkerk
The Koepelkerk in Sappemeer is a wonderful place for concerts and has beautiful acoustics. Every month, classical musicians perform under the name Koepelkerk Concerts. Not the least of these come to play here; there have been concerts by Wibi Sourjadi and violinist Isabelle van Keulen, for instance. This autumn, there will be a piano recital by Andrei Makarov and a performance by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's Brass Quintet.
