De Biks or Onner Biks is also the name of a small lake to the west of the mill, which is connected to the mill via the De Biks watercourse. The mill was built in 1857 and was completely modernised in the late 1920s, with the sail cross and screw pumps designed by millwright Dekker. The mill, which used to have a screw pump, now has two screw pumps, and the volunteer miller, who lives next to the mill, regularly operates it. An electric motor can also drive the pumps. The sails of the sail cross are 23.40 metres long and are fitted with the Dekker self-balancing system.
