Cycling in Groningen becomes a poetic experience with the VERS app. With this app, you can now listen to and read poems at around 350 cycle junctions across the province of Groningen. Thanks to the poems, you’ll start to look at your surroundings in a different way. Sometimes the poem fits the landscape perfectly, so that the surroundings and the poem enhance each other. Sometimes, however, the poem clashes with the spot where you’re standing, causing your perspective to shift. In this way, every poem offers you a surprising experience.

Poets in the Prinsentuin
The Groningen poetry festival ‘Dichters in de Prinsentuin is the city of Groningen’s premier annual festival. Here you can enjoy poetry and exchange thoughts with one another, with the poets or with their translators. For the past few years, ‘Dichters in Prinsentuin has been held at the Hortus Botanicus in Haren. Amidst fragrant herbs, grasses, flowers and trees from all corners of the globe, you’ll find surprising performance spaces and idyllic spots to enjoy the sunshine and the poetry. Every year, during this Groningen poetry festival, new poems are added to even more cycle junctions.
