Graffiti wasbeer Winschoterkade
A mural of a raccoon on Winschoterkade in the city, created by artist Jack Lack.
Anyone who thought there were no raccoons living in Groningen city centre is mistaken. Thanks to artist Jack Lack, there’s now one living on the Oosterhaven. The animal does tend to hide away a bit; if you’re not paying attention, you’ll walk right past it. You’ll find it at the head of the Winschoterkade, near the blue bench. In the painting, the raccoon is holding a ship between its paws – a reference to the nearby harbour. Anyone keen on spotting animals in the city shouldn’t miss this mural.
