Museum Het Behouden Blik

Museum Het Behouden Blik is a small and special museum. Here you get a glimpse into the kitchen of Dutch society through a large collection of Dutch decorative packaging tin.

In one of the smallest museums in the northern Netherlands, you’ll find a wide variety of tins and curiosities from the period 1880–1980. You’ll see well-known brands such as De Gruyter, Douwe Egberts, Van Nelle, Van Houten, Broekema, Verkade, Niemeijer, Tiktak and many more. Through these items, the museum offers a glimpse into the heart of Dutch society. Come and be surprised by the sense of recognition these items evoke, and see for yourself how society has changed – or perhaps hasn’t. The museum is open on Thursdays throughout the year. On all other days, the museum is open to both individual and group visitors by appointment only.
