Kinderboerderij Stadspark
Right in the middle of the Stadspark, tucked away amongst trees and bushes, lies one of Groningen’s loveliest spots. Here you’ll find a petting farm and a large playground.

They’re proud of this at Kinderboerderij Stadspark. Whereas at other petting farms animals are often kept in pens, here they simply roam freely. At least, as far as that’s good for the animals themselves. The donkeys, for instance, do have their own little field. But don’t be alarmed if a goat nips at your shoelaces whilst you’re drumming along to a tune on the musical instrument made of metal tubes. Or if a peacock decides to sit cosily next to you on the tractor. Next to the petting farm is a terrace where you can enjoy an ice cream and a drink. Across the path is a large playground with playhouses, swings and slides. Go on, have a go! Fancy seeing even more animals? A little further on, there’s a herd of Scottish Highland cattle. In fact, the Stadspark is a free zoo right in the heart of the city.
