Strand Zuid Oldambtmeer
Strand Zuid is situated close to the Havenkwartier marina. A long wooden footbridge takes you straight from the centre of Blauwestad to the beach. It’s a lovely spot to relax in the summer, go for a dip and play in the playground and on the playing field.
Are you cycling or walking from Winschoten across the Pieter Smit Bridge to Blauwestad? Then you can’t miss the beach. At Strand Zuid, you’ll also find the motorhome pitches and the events site with parking spaces.
There are ‘social sofas’ on either side of the Pieter Smit Bridge and at the end of the pier . These mosaic-covered benches can be found throughout the municipality of Oldambt. Each bench tells its own story about the place where it has been installed. From here, you have a magnificent view of Oldambtmeer and the harbour.
The quality of the bathing water at Strand Zuid is closely monitored and maintained by the Hunze & Aa’s Water Board.
Dogs are not permitted on Strand Zuid at any time of year. However, further along the event site, near the Triadeem, there is another small beach where dogs can swim and romp to their heart’s content.
