Location
Thanks to the harbour’s exceptional location, it offers excellent opportunities for trips to the Dutch and German Wadden Islands. It is also possible to sail up the Eems towards Emden, Leer and other small German harbours. Via the ‘Blauwe Passage’, trips to the Oldambtmeer are possible, and sailing routes can be taken in East Groningen. The Roggenkamp Lock provides access to the Damsterdiep. Friesland and Drenthe can be reached by sailing westwards along the Eems Canal. Nearby mound villages, the seaport and the dyke can be visited by bike.
The ground floor of the quay building has been fitted out as a toilet and shower facility for passers-by. You will also find a launderette, a toilet facility for disabled people and a disposal point for your chemical toilet. Used oil can be handed in at the environmental depot via the harbour master, and there is a waste water pumping station.
