Location
In 2016, Robbert van Barneveld took over Marenland. Work began straight away, and a new terrace and a playground were built. The terrace opened in the summer of 2016, and since then everyone has been welcome to come and enjoy a drink or have lunch.
In 2017, her brother Ruud also joined the business and gave the hospitality side an extra boost. A new space was created for groups (for both meetings and small parties), and Marenland also began serving dinner in the restaurant and on the terrace. Since October 2017, the restaurant has been known as De Jongens uit de buurt, a reference to Robbert and Ruud, who grew up in Winsum (200 metres away).
