Stadsstrand
At over 4,000 m 2, the stadsstrand is the largest public space on the Open Lab Ebbinge. It is the only real stadsstrand in Groningen.

On the beach stands a submarine made from car tyres; this is regarded as a work of art but also serves as a piece of playground equipment. The beautifully decorated emergency exits of the car park are also visible here. During the summer months, the beach is a major crowd-puller and thus a boost for the local hospitality industry. It is also an ideal venue for sporting events such as a beach volleyball tournament, boot camp sessions and the Frisbee City League. The temporary stadsstrand at Open Lab Ebbinge offers entertainment for young and old alike. It is a meeting place that is used extensively and much appreciated, particularly in sunny weather.
