Oorlogsmuseum Middelstum

The war museum in Middelstum is a small-scale private museum. The museum is run by Ties Groenewold, who has been collecting all sorts of items from the war since 2009. His collection focuses mainly on local wartime history. In the museum, you’ll mainly find German artefacts from the war, but the Dutch army, the Allies, civilians and politics are also featured. The most unique items in the collection are undoubtedly the Delft blue ashtrays and wall plates from the German anti-aircraft batteries in Groningen and Friesland.
