Jachthaven Schipperskwartier
Since a few enthusiastic water sports enthusiasts, mainly residents of Jachthaven Schipperskwartier, took over the port from the municipality of Veendam in 1993, the port has become a home port for motor and sailing boats.

The marina run by the “Wijnbrug” Foundation is situated on the Oosterdiep in Wildervank. Close to the water, you’ll find a shopping centre for everyday essentials, including a supermarket, a bakery, a greengrocer’s, a hairdresser’s, a snack bar, a grill room and a Chinese-Indonesian restaurant.
