The extraordinary Park Garden surrounds the 19th-century Landhuis Oosterhouw. This Groningen Pronkjewail has an allure all of its own and amazes many. With its unique neoclassical appearance, it proudly displays its rich history. Built in 1868, the Manor House housed four generations of Hogeland notaries in its first 100 years. It then became a doctor's surgery and provided care for the residents of the village of Leens. In 1989, the well-known poet C.O. Jellema and garden architect K.T. Noordhuis bought Oosterhouw. It became a source of inspiration for Jellema's work. The Landhuis still houses the poet's literary library.
After exploring the four garden styles of the Park Garden, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on the terrace. There is a shop with fun and diverse items. Further experience the Groningen open countryside via various cycling and walking routes!
