Rustpunt Kommerzijl
In April 2021, Bert and Aly started this rest stop at their 'mini farm'. You can buy coffee, tea, soft drinks, ice creams, biscuits and eggs here. They hope many walkers and cyclists will start using the rest point.
Location
Rustpunt Kommerzijl is part of a former cattle farm. The farm used to belong to the property of the Cusemer monastery near Oldekerk. In 1594, the monastery property passed to the province. Until 1970, the farm was used as a mixed farm, then as a cattle farm until 2016. In late 2019, Bert and Aly Nederveen bought the house, the small barn, orchard and meadow. The large barn remained in the possession of the previous owner, who rented it out for storage. Part of the barn is at Bert and Aly's disposal, which also houses the rest area.
