Location
As soon as you walk down Oude Boteringestraat in Groningen, you experience the city’s rich history. Here you can admire the oldest and best-preserved parts of the historic city. This street tells stories from the past. One such story is that of Professor Tjalling Joostes Halbertsma. It was Professor Halbertsma who fell in love with a distinctive building whose façade is adorned with wooden panels featuring floral motifs. A façade that changes colour with each season, making the street seem constantly in motion. It’s hardly surprising, then, that Tjalling Halbertsma chose this very building to start a family. It was here that his adventures would leave an indelible mark that can still be felt today.
