Rustpunt de Rode Kapschuur
Ellerhuizen, a picturesque little area with old Groningen farmhouses, lies on the border between the city of Groningen and the northern Hoogeland. Near one of these farmhouses is rustpunt de Rode Kapschuur natural campsite and rustpunt de Rode Kapschuur.
De Rode Kapschuur is a small-scale mixed farm. They keep Schoonebeeker sheep, Dutch Land goats and chickens there. There is also a fruit orchard and a vegetable and herb garden. They operate organically, aiming for a closed-loop system.
In the summer of 2014, a small campsite was also added to the farm. There are 20 spacious camping pitches set around a large pond. The campsite is cosy and great fun for the whole family. There’s plenty for children to discover here: they can take the rowing boat out on the pond and drive go-karts around the grounds. Of course, the animals and gardens are also well worth a closer look.

The owners felt that ‘Het Rustpunt’ was a natural addition to the business. Here, you can enjoy a drink either under the canopy or in the garden. During the summer season, you can also enjoy ice cream. In addition, various farm produce is sold, such as eggs, jam and vegetables.
