Rustpunt de Rode Kapschuur
In the border area between the city of Groningen and the northern Hoogeland lies Ellerhuizen, a characteristic area with old Groninger farms. Near one of these farms is Nature Camping and rustpunt de Rode Kapschuur.
The Red Shed is a small-scale mixed farm. They keep Schoonebeeker sheep, Dutch Land goats and chickens there. There is also an orchard and a vegetable and herb garden. They work organically with closed cycles as their goal.
A small campsite also joined the farm in summer 2014. Around a large pond are 20 spacious spots for camping. The campsite is cosy and fun for the whole family. There is a lot for children to discover here: they can take the rowing boat in the pond and go around the grounds on the go-kart. The animals and gardens are also fun to look at.
