The artwork depicts a stone head that is half-broken off. A profusion of greenery emerges from and into the face, including trees, shrubs and mushrooms. The idea behind the work is that, despite our different backgrounds, we are all part of one natural world.

Groninger Museum X Writer’s Block
With three large, wall-filling artworks to be created over the coming months in the Groningen neighbourhoods of Beijum, Vinkhuizen and Paddepoel, the Groninger Museum is seeking to engage with the city’s residents. National and international artists, including Michel Velt and Tito Mulk, are creating new works for everyone to admire. This street art project, organised in collaboration with Writer’s Block, forms part of the supporting programme for the exhibition ‘JR: Chronicles’, which was on display at the museum.
