With its 123 luxurious hotel rooms, The Market Hotel, with all its facilities, is also of all places! Nowhere in Groningen are you more beautiful and central than at the Grote Markt. Here you can taste the city's history. On the ground floor you will find Café Willem Albert, with its high-end bar and terrace where you can enjoy dinner and drinks. Café Willem Albert is Groningen's living room where everyone feels at home. With the broad, accessible menu we want to serve everyone and give the 'Dutch Cuisine' recognition and appreciation again. As much as possible, we use regional products and ingredients from Dutch soil. The ground floor also houses the traditional bakery, Bakkerij Westers. Where you can enjoy delicious coffee, sandwiches (to-go) and luxury patisserie.
The hotel has 3 modern meeting rooms with a total floor area of 160 m2. The largest room, Hereplein 80m2, is located on the second floor; being two storeys high, it looks beautifully spacious. On the fourth floor are two connected boardrooms; the Grote Markt 55m2 and the Nieuw Markt 25m2. An inspiring place where big industrialist Willem Albert Scholten once lived at the foot of the beating heart of the city.
Unwind at the Wellcome Wellness. The wellness area has a gym, a sauna and Turkish bath. Enjoy a relaxing massage in the two treatment rooms. The perfect place to end a busy day or get off to a good start.
The Market Hotel is an all-electric and completely gas-free hotel. We pay a lot of attention to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, which also earned us the Golden Grey key, of which we are very proud.
