The Piccardthofplas is populated by large numbers of birds. Noud de Wolf was asked to design a light screen to prevent them from being attracted by headlights in the dark.

But a light screen that would not block the view of the water from residents of the houses opposite. After extensive research, De Wolf designed a 200-metre-long screen divided into 96 plates that catch the light from the cars. The plates are positioned to create an undulating movement. Thanks to this shape, the earthy colour of the steel and the gravel between the plates, the artwork forms a natural filter between the tranquillity of the water plane and the dynamism of city life.
