Noordpolderzijl dijk
The view from a dyke is almost always worthwhile. But this spot has something extra: in fact, those who walk it northwards arrive at the northernmost point of the Groningen mainland.

From the dike, you have a beautiful wide view of the mud flats and fishing port. The village of Noordpolderzijl can also be seen on the other side. At the entrance to the dike, near the lock, a monument has been made with bricks. On the sea side, blue-grey stripes run on a base of old, red clinkers. The waves symbolise the power of the Wadden Sea. On the other side of the lock, blue-grey stripes have also been made, but horizontally and on a base of new red clinkers. Thus, this stretch symbolises the polder landscape behind it. At the foot of the sea dyke is 't Zielhoes. This former sluiswachterswoning houses a nostalgic brown café.
