Maria Church

The church was built in 1280 and has been well preserved since then, with the tower added in the 14th century.

Take a closer look

The two eastern vaults are painted with 13th-century ornamental masonry patterns. Shortly after 1300, a heavy stone choir end was masonry in several stages. An organ has stood on this brick doxal since 1531. This makes it one of the oldest organs in the Netherlands. The church has sober furnishings; pulpit, baptismal railing and a gentlemen's bench for the Ripperda family date from the 17th century.
