Park Borgerswold
Bordering Veendam is the 450-hectare recreational area Borgerswold, created in 1971 as a sand excavation in the peat landscape west of Veendam - Wildervank. It connected to the Sorghvliet residential area.
White-painted drawbridges create a special atmosphere. There are facilities for all ages, including a water ski cableway, riding schools, an 18-hole golf course, a petting farm and beaches for swimming. Mountain bike trails, bridleways and an extensive network of cycling and walking routes criss-cross the park. Perfect for an active day out or simply relaxing in a beautiful spot.
