Postkantoor Oude Pekela

As Chief Government Architect, Cornelis Hendrik Peters (1847–1932) designed dozens of post offices, including those in Amsterdam and on Munnekeholm in Groningen. This building on Feiko Clockstraat in Oude Pekela is also one of his designs (1898).

On the first floor, a manager’s residence was fitted out with high-ceilinged rooms and elegant wooden beams. The building is no longer in use as a post office but is now privately owned. The town hall in Winschoten and the post office in Veendam were also designed by Peters.
