Around 1890, the building was converted to provide a venue for the gentlemen’s club for prominent members of the middle classes and local dignitaries. This group was very active in the cultural sphere and had its own orchestra and choir. Nowadays, the building is no longer used for cultural purposes, but serves as the offices of the Mental Health Service.
