Gedempte Zuiderdiep 85 - When you don't have to go to the dentist the next day, you really want to visit Groningen's dessert paradise. Here you will find delectable homemade desserts, cakes and countless other snacks. Fresh, honest and purely prepared. A good cup of coffee, but the high tea is not bad either. Almost everything on the menu passes by then. It only gets crazier at the big dessert dinner. Choose from three or seven courses and enjoy it with your family and friends. Just a piece of cake is also allowed. You must be really in the mood for sweet.

Wadapartja

Gedempte Zuiderdiep 39 & Pottebakkersrijge 21 - Wadapartja simply means 'somewhat separate, yes', which is what a Groninger cries out when seeing something you can't immediately place. Something that is special. Appropriate words for this little shop that already has two branches. Here, the coffee is roasted locally, but the goodies also come from the area. Organic vegetables from the Eemstuin, bread from baker Luuk with grain from the Groningen countryside and a beer from Bax, Martinus or Eggens. You've even come to the right place for cute little gadgets. Highly recommended.

Paais!

Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat 24 - Delicious coffee and a playful counter full of homemade treats: who wouldn't be happy about that? Paais not only stimulates the taste and smell senses, but is also definitely pleasing to the eye. Although this coffee shop with its colourful works of art looks playful, coffee is no child's play but a very serious business. Besides coffee, you can find delicious homemade cakes and sumptuous breakfasts here. We love that.

Kattencafé Op z'n Kop

Oude Ebbingestraat 57 - Do you love cats ánd coffee? Then this café is the ultimate place for you. Kattencafé Op z'n Kop is a cosy living room café where you can enjoy delicious coffee, cakes and sandwiches. The café is home to several sweet shelter cats, each with their own story and character. When are you going to meet Maine Coon Bowie and professional whipping thief Benny?

Koffiestation Books & Coffee

Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat 21 - For a good cup of coffee, you can also go to Koffiestation Books & Coffee in the Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat. A collaboration between Groningen coffee roaster Koffiestation and bookshop Riemer. A unique concept, which you won't find anywhere else in the city. Between the English books you drink coffee, roasted in the Oosterpark district. Here, they turn something ordinary into something special.

Black & Bloom

Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat 32 - One that should definitely not be left out of this list of coffee hotspots is Black & Bloom. The place of choice for fantastic black coffees and quirky, Groningen hospitality. The knowledge of and love for the craft here are second to none. We could talk at length about it, but here the rule is simply: tasting is experiencing.

Gedempte Zuiderdiep 22 - Have you ever heard of a flexitarian coffee house? Here, things work a little differently from what you're used to. For instance, it's normal to get oat milk in your coffee. If you want cow's milk you can, but for a small extra charge. Coffee Break 's offerings are 80% vegan. Enjoyment here is done with respect for nature, animals and your body.

Spaak Koffie & Koers

Oude Boteringestraat 66 - Spaak is Groningen's cycling café. A place for cyclists and coffee lovers. To get together, drink coffee, have lunch, watch the race, have your bike repaired, buy parts and join a bike ride. Every Saturday and Sunday, you can join the Spaak ride, a tour lasting about 2 hours. But even if you're not a bike enthusiast, you can go there for a good cup of locally roasted coffee, a delicious lunch or a tasty cake.

World of Barista

Grote Markt 35 - Espresso bar World of Barista is more than just a prominent location to enjoy a blissful cup of coffee. In fact, it takes you into the world of baristi and is the starting point for anyone who would like to learn more about coffee. Offering a wide range of workshops and training courses for both companies and individuals, World of Barista is a true teacher of coffee. Are you a curious coffee drinker? Vismarkt 1 - Cappuvino is the place for those who like to start the day with a delicious cup of coffee and like to end it with a good glass of wine. A modern wine and coffee bar where quality and ambiance are key. Guests can also enjoy a variety of finger food and a beautiful view of the Vismarkt. Not exactly without merit, of course.
