Recycling route: 5 x circuits Ulgersmaweg

Browse among books with donkey ears, colourful crockery and pieces of furniture with life experience. It is a feast of recognition. And if you are lucky, you might just catch a gem for a pleasant price. Groningen is full of recycling shops, but we like to keep it simple. No wandering all over the city, but just wandering down one road.

Welcome to: round Ulgersmaweg. On this road, we have strung together five recycling shops for you. From the city, it's easy to get there by bike. Also by car or bus (line 3 or 4) you get there easily. Get off at Pop Dijkemaweg.

Fair Back | Wed-Sat

Ulgersmaweg 28 - Your treasure hunt starts at thrift shop Fair Back. If you come by car, you can park here for free on the spacious lot in front of the door. This is also the largest thrift store on the route. Sneupers can indulge themselves here with two floors full of household goods, clothes, books, furniture, brown and white goods and all kinds of trinkets. From vintage crockery to that one book you weren't looking for but still wedged under your arm.

Puur Toeval | Fri to Sat

Ulgersmaweg 37 - The next stop is Puur Toeval. Literally, because this shop is a bit hidden away so you can drive right past. Actually more of a vintage shop than a thrift store, but one you don't want to miss. You will find good quality vintage furniture here. Not the cheapest on the list, but things that are made to last for years to come. Among the shelves are home-made designs of tables and lighting. Vintage clothes also hang here: from rope jackets to high leather boots.

Vintage Industry | Tues to Sat

Ulgersmaweg 139 - A little further down the Ulgersmaweg you will find Vintage Industry, a warehouse full of old junk and curiosities. You will find everything: industrial stuff and clothing, antique toys, militaria and books. A real browsing shop where you have to dig to discover the best finds. From furniture to household items, curiosities to motorbike parts. In the front corner is another separate shop with crockery.

What's in? | Monday to Saturday

Ulgersmaweg 141 - Next to Vintage Industry is WhatsIn. Especially for book lovers, this is a stop to pop in. There is a separate book corner and behind the counter there are some special and somewhat more expensive specimens. You will also find furniture, toys, white goods, clothes, books and small household items for next to nothing. Small items are particularly strong here: from plates and glasses to cups, cutlery, flower pots and pans. Ready for the last stop?

Stiefbeen en Zoon | Tue to Sat

Ulgersmaweg 147 - The last stop on this thrift route is Stiefbeen en Zoon. A mix of vintage shop and consignment shops from bankrupt catering businesses. What's there changes each time, but stopping in is always worthwhile. You will find practically everything for in and around the house, new and used, for both individuals and catering entrepreneurs. From furniture and decoration to vinyl, collectibles and typical Groningen items. A real sneuperstop to end the route with.
