In the city and province of Groningen, enjoy fresh and local products sold at regional markets which are held monthly.  Be as sustainable as you can be​ with fruit, vegetables, diary, meat, bread, eggs and traditional regional delicacies. Nienoord regional produce market | Boerderij Oosterheerdt Leek

Every 1st Saturday of the month, from 10 am until 4 pm – The Nienoord regional product market provides the most delicious food from the region. All products are grown, cultivated and prepared within a 40-kilometre radius around Leek. Most of the products can be tasted and sellers – who commonly produce the food they sell – can tell you the story behind the product or provide tips to prepare it. Regional food means seasonal food and supplies thus change monthly, ensuring that meals are exciting and healthy

Ommelander Markt | Harmonieplein Groningen

Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, and additional winter markets from January through March, from 10 am until 5 pm – On the Ommelander Markt, visitors can taste local and delicious and fair products, all of them brought to you by enthusiastic local farmers and entrepreneurs. Consumers are free to feel and inspect the products before buying. The objective of the market is to reinforce the connection between the city and countryside and shorten the ‘from farmer to plate’ chain.

Streekmarkt Verhildersum | Museumboerderij Dijkstilsterweg 4 Leens

Every 3rd Saturday of the month, from 10 am until 4 pm – Each month, exhibitors present their special high-grade products in the Museumboerderij in Leens. From farmhouse cheese to smoked mackerel and from traditional bread to pure chocolate, this is where you can buy everything to prepare a delicious meal or treat. Once you are done browsing the charming stands, come and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the museum café.

De Groene Vis | Vissershaven Lauwersoog

Each Saturday from April, 10 am until 1 pm – Delicious and honest fish, fresh from the Wadden onto the market. Honest and healthy fish from the region. Each Friday and Saturday, the local Wadden fishermen of ‘de Groene Vis’ bring their sustainably caught fish to shore at the Lauwersoog harbour. From April fish is sold at the ultimate fresh fish market of the North of the Netherlands: De Groene Vis (The Green Fish).
