From spectacular shows with festive music to heart-wrenching stories that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Right in the city centre or at special venues in the surrounding countryside.​

  • Opening of Tumult

    Opening of Tumult

    26 September

    At the foot of the Martinitoren and next to the Forum, Tumult – the new premises of the VRIJDAG arts centre – will open its doors on Saturday 26 September. Come and have a look around during the opening and get creative straight away.

  • Children’s workshop

    Children’s workshop

    From September

    In September, the Kinderwerkplaats will open at Tumult. Children are welcome at this new workshop every day of the week, both during and after school hours, to create music, theatre and visual art.

The Klinker

Winschoten – On 15 October, you can see DE MEIDEN performing their cabaret show NAAR DE GETVER at this cultural centre. They portray women in all their contradictions and turn everything upside down. On 17 October, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable evening with the De BUS Whisky Theatre Show. Dennis Hurkmans takes you on a journey through whisky country and shares anecdotes about his business with humour and passion. All whilst enjoying a whisky tasting. On 14 November, TikTok Tammo takes to the stage with *Tammo Zingt Folk*. Especially for this performance, Tammo has replaced the lyrics of Irish folk songs with rewritten and self-penned lyrics in the local dialect. For musical theatre lovers, *All the Blue in the Sky* will be performed on 13 March. A moving theatre production about loss, hope, starting afresh and the courage to face up to yourself.

Kielzog

Hoogezand – On Friday 18 September, Jörgen Raymann returns to the theatre. In the warm, sharp and hilarious show *Bibi Yari*, he follows Mister Lasmibalsingh: a Dutch Surinamese man who, after forty years, wants to return to his country of birth, but discovers that he is a Surinamese everywhere… except in Suriname. On 3 October, the tribute band Brucified will take to the stage to pay tribute to Bruce Springsteen once again. On 14 January, Charly Luske, together with his live band, will take you on a musical journey through all of George Michael’s iconic hits in the show *The Story of George Michael*. It’s not just a hits show; it’s also the story behind the music. On 11 February, Johnny de Mol returns to the stage with his second show: *Goed dat jij bestaat*. During the show, Johnny puts taboos under the microscope with boundary-pushing audacity.

Van Beresteyn

Veendam – On 26 September, Jandino will celebrate his twentieth anniversary on stage with *De Grote Jubileumshow*. Jandino will look back on his impressive career and celebrate life with the audience, adding a healthy dose of humour. For jazz lovers, 4 October brings the show *A Swingin’ Affair* featuring musicians Rein de Graaf Trio, Scott Hamilton and Marcela Hendriks. On 31 October, A Pink Floyd Experience takes you on a journey back to the golden years of the legendary band Pink Floyd. The Belgian tribute band pays homage to six decades of groundbreaking music. On 18 December, Mirusia takes to the stage with a heart-warming Christmas concert. ‘The Angel of Australia’ will ensure that, on this December evening, two worlds merge: the warm, open Australian summer and the atmospheric Dutch winter.

The Molenberg

Delfzijl – There’s plenty to enjoy at De Molenberg in the coming weeks. On 8 October, Sjors van der Panne will take to the stage with captivating Dutch and French chansons. In his distinctive style, he pays tribute to the great chansonniers of the Low Countries and beyond. On 22 October, Guido Spek is coming to Delfzijl with *Voor Spek en Bonen*, a musical performance about procrastination, everyday challenges and the courage to get started, even if it’s not perfect yet. Music lovers can head to *Acting The Maggot* on 23 October. In *Irish Rebels & Rovers*, the band takes you on a journey to Ireland with well-known classics about love, whisky, rebels and rogues. On 12 November, Syb van der Ploeg and Maarten Peters will pay tribute to Simon & Garfunkel with an intimate performance, interpreting the music of their childhood idols. On 23 December, The Forces Sweethearts will present a musical Christmas treat for the cold and dark days with their show *Jingle All The Way*.

Theater Geert Teis

Stadskanaal – On 22 October, this regional theatre will be staging *We zijn toch familie?*. A musical comedy full of sharp satire and recognisably Dutch awkwardness, starring Paul van Leeuw and Annick Boer in the lead roles, amongst others. On 19 November, Sara Kroos returns to the cabaret stage with her new show: *Prikkelarme kermis*. With a healthy dose of self-deprecation, she tells new stories with sharp humour and sweet songs. For fans of Groningen-style humour, head to POTKAAST on 3 December. Aline Kiers, Harry Niehof, Carmen Schilstra, Jan Veldman and Jaap Stegeman have put their heads together to create something special. On 18 February, you can catch the gripping musical about Hugo de Groot. A slice of history about freedom, doubt and the courage to give others space.
