After the Second World War, this building, too, was demolished. A number of memorial stones from the synagogue were used for the Jewish monument on Prins Bernhardlaan. This monument was erected in memory of the 93 Jewish citizens of Veendam and Wildervank who were deported and murdered during the Second World War.
