Old church Siddeburen
Take a closer look
The reformed church in Siddeburen is a partly Romanesque, partly Romano-Gothic medieval church. The oldest part was built around 1200. A twenty-nine-metre-high tower with a tented roof was built onto the church. Previously, it was metres higher and had a gable roof. Both church and tower are partly built of tuff.
All the authentic elements are well preserved. A fresco decorates the roof in one of the domes, a hint to the other old frescoes hidden under a layer of plaster. The carved pulpit comes from 1621 and the Lohman organ from 1821. Some of the organ pipes are probably from an earlier organ.
