Open-air cinemas in Groningen

Enjoy a fully catered evening with a brilliant film and experience an open-air cinema right in the heart of the city. Your evening is organised down to the last detail: Bar Bistro NOK provides delicious snacks and drinks, all included in your ticket. The film titles are announced monthly, so there’s always something new to look forward to. Tickets sell like hot cakes for every screening, so the sooner you book, the better.

On Delfzijl’s stadsstrand beach, the coast is transformed into an atmospheric open-air cinema. Come and enjoy a varied programme of films. After a day on the stadsstrand, you can pop straight over to the terrace at DOT, which is being transformed into an open-air cinema this summer. Cinair brings films to life under the stars on an impressive 144m² screen. Enjoy blockbuster hits and hidden gems in a relaxed deckchair setting. This event is part of the anniversary programme celebrating 100 years of Stadspark. To celebrate the city of Groningen’s ‘back garden’, the Forum is screening two films here. A wildly original and hilarious sex, drugs and hip-hop biopic about Kneecap, the Irish trio who were named best act at Best Kept Secret last year by 3voor12. And a thrilling road movie full of adventure, longing and unexpected insights. An unforgettable journey through Mexico, where two teenagers and an older woman set out in search of a fictional paradise beach. And an added bonus: tickets for these film nights are just 5 euros!

Noorderzon | Noorderplantsoen

During the 36th edition of the well-known Noorderzon festival, you can also find a spot in front of the big screen. Come and watch Doc Night, Animation Night or Fiction Night and be amazed by Northern filmmakers offering a wonderful cross-section of recent history, social developments, stories from the worlds of art and pop music, and pure beauty captured on screen. The films are screened back-to-back every hour. The series starts afresh every hour.
