This miller's house sits at the edge of the village below its namesake, Zeldenrust Mill. It is picture perfect: the mill and holiday home in Westerwijtwerd make a beautiful couple. They stand close together. The mill's scaffolding even partly hangs over the house, as if the two form a whole. The holiday home offers beautiful views across the Groningen countryside. Like the mill that dates from 1845, the miller's house has an authentic look. Inside, the atmosphere is pre-1900, when the miller lived and worked there. It is as if time has stood still. Both the mill and the miller's house are national monuments.

The Westerwijtwerdermaar, a canal that runs from Fraamklap to Oosterdijkshorn, runs alongside the village. This is a great place for canoeing; some 15 bridges cross the water here. Since 2015, there has been an 'idyll' in the village. This idyll is a flower-rich space for butterflies, bees and people. Residents plant bulbs and butterfly bushes, sow the verges with wildflower mixtures and organise activities. The country lanes in and around the village lend themselves well to long bike rides in the area, but so does canoeing. Apart from nature, culture lovers will also get their money's worth here. The church in Westerwijtwerd, together with the octagonal mill, is one of the village's landmarks. Tradition has it that the church was founded by the knight Onno van Ewsum, whose castle is about 4 km from the holiday home. Borg Ewsum is also worth a visit. Walk or cycle there through the Middelstummer forest.

The holiday home can accommodate 6 people. The fully equipped kitchen has a hot air oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The induction hob is suitable for preparing the tastiest dishes. The cosy living room has a wood-burning stove. The adjoining garden room has a bed where you can lounge. On the ground floor is a double bedroom with single beds and a bathroom with a shower, bath and washing machine. There is a separate toilet. On the 1st floor, there is a toilet and 2 bedrooms that both have 2 single beds. Outside is a lovely terrace with both a picnic bench and a lounge sofa. From here you have unobstructed views over the countryside.
