National park Lauwersmeer
After the Lauwerszee was closed off in 1969, no one could have predicted that the Lauwersmeer area would become one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. Nowhere else will you find such a combination of sweeping views of the horizon, stunning flora and fauna, and so much space for recreation. The greatest adventure awaits you at night in the Lauwersmeer Dark Sky Park. Once the sun has long since set, the vibrant nightlife comes to life in this exceptionally dark spot.
