Put on your walking shoes for an atmospheric podwalk through charming Winsum, where the warm autumn colours welcome you. Visit the historical splendour of the Menkemaborg and be transported to vervlogen tijden. And when the wind turns chilly, you can warm yourself up at 't Zielhoes, where the smell of fresh coffee and local delicacies await you. In Waddenland, autumn is a season to cherish!

't Zielhoes

Noordpolderzijl's former sluiswachterswoning, located at the foot of the sea dyke, has long housed the nostalgic brown café 't Zielhoes. After a brisk walk along the dyke, a ramble across the salt marshes and mud flats or a visit to the Noordpolderzijl harbour, this is a good place to relax. On colder bleak days, you can sit inside. Old-fashioned cosiness by the warm pot-bellied stove with a bock beer, mulled wine or hot chocolate with whipped cream. Or go for a portion of bitterballen. Always good.
