Parking in Groningen
In and around the city, there are plenty of places where you can park your bolide. We sought them out for you. We have also collected some handy links. So you are always assured of a spot!
Park for free at a P&R
Visiting Groningen city centre? This is also possible without a car. Park it at a P&R site on the edge of the city and take the special P&R bus to the city centre. Parking in such an area is free and a P+R return ticket to the city centre costs 6.25 euros (max. 5 people). You can buy this ticket in the Qbuzz webshop or in the bus itself. You can leave your car as long as you like. Below is a handy overview of all P&R sites around the city:
- P+R Kardinge, Kardingerplein 1. 780 spaces.
- P+R Hoogkerk, Peizerweg. 1215 spaces.
- P+R Haren, Emmalaan 35. 825 spaces.
- P+R Reitdiep, Friesestraatweg 251. 300 spaces.
- P+R Meerstad, Driebondsweg. 400 spaces.
Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadium car park (p3)
P&R buses also run from the FC Groningen stadium car park towards the city centre. You will then receive a discount (for a maximum of 24 hours) on the applicable parking rate. This only applies when using an OV-Chipkaart. Finished in the city centre? Then take the bus back to the car park. This is possible from Monday to Friday until 21:00 and on Saturdays until 19:00.

Downtown car parks
There are several car parks in the centre of Groningen where you can park your car. At the Interparking car parks, you pay 10 to 15 euros for a whole day's parking in the city centre with the 'Day Trip Parking' promotion, in Groningen you can do so at the garages in Haddingestraat and under the cinema on Zuiderdiep.

Besides the P&R lots and car parks, you can also park your car in the city. In the city centre, or in a suburb. You pay for this, of course. Parking meters in the city centre no longer issue a ticket that you put behind the window. Parking and payment are now based on license plate number. Paying at these machines can only be done with a bank card, V-pay or credit card. There are also several handy apps that can take care of it for you.

To park a motorbike, trailer or caravan in the city, you do not need a permit. For a motorhome, you may, depending on its size.
