In churches, schools, venues and pubs throughout the city; for four days in January, music sounds everywhere. With over 40,000 visitors annually and a line-up of over 350 bands from 31 European countries, Eurosonic Noorderslag is the moment to discover new music.

For years and years, this music festival has opened the pop season in January. International visitors and agencies come to Groningen to network and spot talent. Here you will see the bands that will fill summer festivals later in the year. Here you will hear music that will soon be heard on every radio station. Here you are at small-scale concerts by the world stars of tomorrow. Eurosonic Noorderslag is a springboard for the most promising music acts from home and abroad.

International and home-grown

Paid and free concerts will take place day and night in over thirty venues spread throughout Groningen's city centre. The last day of the festival is dedicated to Noorderslag, which has been the benchmark for Dutch pop music since 1986. A highlight during this closing night is the annual presentation of the Pop Award.
