Entry of St Nicholas

In the north of the Netherlands, Groningen is buzzing with excitement: Sinterklaas is coming! Along the canals and streets, children and parents gather to festively welcome Saint Nicholas and his helpers. Where will you be watching?

On Saturday 15 November the entry of Sinterklaas will take place in the city of Groningen. In the afternoon, the holy man will enter the city from the Reitdiep. From here, the cruise will continue via the Amelander Hoek, Hoge der Aa and Lage der Aa to the Zuiderhaven where the ship will moor along the Praediniussingel quay. After a short break, it will begin its journey through the city, a driving tour that ends at the Grote Markt. Find a nice spot along the route and wave to Sint and his Pieten. Together we will ensure a warm welcome for the Saint. The entry has been organised by Volksvermaken Groningen since 1947.

Winschoten

On Saturday 15 November, the annual entry of Sinterklaas will take place in Winschoten. The boat with Sinterklaas and his Pieten is expected in the harbour of Winschoten at 1 pm. From there, the festive parade will depart at 13.30 towards the city centre and the new festive square.

Veendam

Sinterklaas will arrive in the port of Veendam on 15 November around 12:45. He will then go around Veendam with a colourful procession and over 200 helpers and in the meantime, there will be a show going on at the Raadhuisplein where Sinterklaas will also be present.

Stadskanaal

This year's Sinterklaasintocht in Stadskanaal will take place on Saturday 15 November 2025 from 13:00 to 16:00. The event starts at S.T.A.R. on Stationsstraat 3, where Sinterklaas arrives by train. After his arrival, he will walk on foot to Pakjesboot 7, which will dock in front of the Drouwenermond bridge this year due to maintenance work on the bridge. From there, a festive Pietenparade will depart via Hoofdstraat, Beneluxlaan, Gandhiplein and Generaal Maczekplein to Raadhuisplein, where Sint will have his throne ready. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for a photo opportunity with Saint and his Pieten.

Winsum

On Saturday 15 November the Sinterklaas entry will take place in Winsum. At 13:30 Sinterklaas and his Pieten will arrive by boat in the harbour near the Jeneverbrug . There he will be welcomed by a raving reporter. In the harbour, it will be a cosy party with a new programme full of song and dance. Around 15:00, the procession will start towards Sinterklaas' lodge, which will go via Oosterstraat, over the Boog, via Hoofdstraat Winsum to Stationsweg 11. There the children will say goodbye to Sinterklaas .

Leek

On Saturday 15 November at 14:00 Sinterklaas and his Pieten will arrive from Landgoed Nienoord. They will then make a cheerful tour through the centre of Leek, via the Schreiershoek, Bosweg, Tolberterstraat, De Tip, Oosterheerdstraat, Samuel Leviestraat and De Dam. The party will end on De Dam, near the Witte Kerkje/De Liekeblom, where a big stage will be ready for the big Sinterklaas party. Will you also come to welcome Sinterklaas?

Appingedam

On Friday 21 November, Sinterklaas is coming to Appingedam! At 17:00, he will be welcomed behind the Nicolaïkerk. Come watch, wave and enjoy the merry Pieten and treats. A cosy moment for young and old.
