Buckshot Café opened its doors on 15 October 1999. Owners Maarten Burger and Marc Groenewoud run two floors with two bars and two different ambiances. The ground floor has a relaxed atmosphere, where guests see what they are doing and hear what they are saying, while on the first floor you can easily imagine yourself in the 1970s or 1980s. Music is important to us, so we play the latest jazz, soul, funk, jazz dance, nu jazz, lounge, funk, fusion and jazz rock, and every Sunday there is live music on the ground floor stage. We hold Buckshot Specials on a regular basis: special evenings featuring special music. Refer to the concert calender  for dates of live music and specials.

Hotel Boschhuis is hidden in the greenery at the end of a very old beech lane, and was originally established as a beer house and brewery for the benefit of the mediaeval Holy Cross Brothers monastery, dating from 1464, and located opposite the hotel. The view from the leafy terrace is the variation of the changing of the seasons. This wonderful environment provides many opportunities for hiking, cycling and other types of recreation. The mediaeval monastery and stately beeches have remained unchanged and the 15th century monastery and herb garden are open to visitors. Hotel Boschhuis has been a hospitable address for travellers, holiday-makers, business people, and various events for over 100 years.

Time Out is a company with history. Since 1976, the Jager family has been welcoming their guests in the Poelestraat in Groningen city centre, which makes Time Out a well known address where people love to return. After the last expansion in March 2007, Eetcafé Time Out is now Grand Café Time Out. This is the place to enjoy your lunch, drink or dinner in an informal atmosphere, sometimes even with some dancing. Because of its various attractive rooms (some of which are non-smoking), Time Out is very suitable for larger groups. In summer, enjoy the outdoor café at one of the most charming squares.

Hi there! We are Spaak, the ultimate bicycle café in Groningen and a combination of a coffee bar and bicycle shop! While enjoying a delicious cup of single origine coffee from Koffiestation (a local coffee roaster) and something on the side, gape at some magnificent bicycles, components, accessories and cycling literature. We also have a workshop where you can let your racing bike fixed. You can also pass by to watch important and less important bicycle races or join one of our rides (Spaakrit) on every Saturday and Sunday.
