Het Pomphuis

Kleine der A 7 – Het Pomphuis is a charming restaurant situated in a former pumping station. The waterside terrace is perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner, where you can watch the boats go by. The view over the A creates a special setting, ideal for a romantic dinner or a cosy evening of drinks.

Garnwerd aan Zee

Hunzeweg 38A – Garnwerd aan Zee is a unique spot for food and drink in the province of Groningen. Until 1877, the area was still subject to the tides and was a busy trade route. These days, you can enjoy a bite to eat and a drink on the spacious yet intimate terrace. Meanwhile, you can also relax and enjoy watching the boats sail by.

Café de Sigaar

Hoge der A 2 – At Café de Sigaar , the doors are open all day. It’s the ideal spot to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or a delicious lunch or dinner, with the gentle lapping of the canal waters in the background. For the true beer lover, their own home-brewed beer – Sigaar Blond – flows from the tap.

De Jongens Uit De Buurt

Winsumerdiep 6 - Located on the beautiful grounds of Camping Marenland is the restaurant De jongens uit de Buurt. In one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands, they offer a cosy restaurant with a lovely waterside terrace where you will be spoiled with contemporary dishes prepared with local produce. Also try one of the local beers such as the blond beer 'Het Zotte Kalf'.

Beachclub Kaap Hoorn

Kaapse Baan 1 – With its relaxed, beachy atmosphere and stunning views, Beachclub Kaaphoorn is the perfect spot. Whether on the beach or on the terrace, enjoy the magical views over the Hoornsemeer, the boats sailing by and delicious platters of snacks.

Café ’t Zielhoes

Zijlweg 4 – It’s a lovely spot here on the terrace of the former Usquert sluiswachterswoning . This nostalgic traditional pub is one of the few places left where you can enjoy a ‘hete kwast’ or savour a traditional Grunneger Kovvie set. And legend has it that even the American rock star Bob Dylan enjoyed a cup of coffee here. And if you walk across the dyke for a moment, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the Wadden Sea.

Paviljoen Overdiep

Stadshaven 2 – Right in the heart of Appingedam’s historic centre, you’ll find Paviljoen Overdiep. It’s situated in the marina next to the Nicolaïkerk, with stunning views of the historic buildings. You can come here for a full dinner, but you’re also welcome to join us for lunch. It’s an ideal stop if you’re taking a boat trip through the region.

Paviljoen Flonk

Funenbrug 1 – From the modern Paviljoen Flonk , you can look out over the beautiful Oldambtmeer. They have an extensive menu for lunch, drinks, high tea and dinner. You’re welcome here all day long, and that’s exactly how it feels. As they have their own jetty, you can even moor your boat right outside. The ideal spot for a wonderfully relaxing day.

Reitdiepskade 1A – Whether by bike, car or boat to Zoutkamp, anything is possible! Housed in a historic building, you’ll find this delightful fish restaurant. It used to be a lock-gate workshop where lock gates were maintained. Now you can enjoy a lovely meal on the terrace overlooking the harbour and the Reitdiep.

Harbour Café

For Het Voormalig Klein Poortje 10-11 – Since 1900, this distinctive building has been a restaurant and bar in the Oosterhaven, where ships from all over the world used to moor. Today, you can still enjoy a refreshing drink by the canal or treat yourself to a culinary surprise here. This is where you’ll experience that genuine holiday feeling on the edge of the city centre.
