From 26 April, experience the Wadden Sea region at the Wadden Sea World Heritage Centre(WEC) in Lauwersoog. Besides being the new home of Zeehondencentrum Pieterburen, there is much more to see and do. See how seals are cared for in the hospital, experience the journey of a fish through the Wadden Sea and discover what it encounters. Do your own research, carry out experiments and learn all about the Wadden Sea. The WEC is truly an interactive experience for young and old.

In seven different places in the province of Groningen, cool cycling routes have been set out for children. On tours of up to 15 kilometres, children can help locals solve various mysteries. Along the way, they will have to complete tasks to collect letters to crack the code. Can you solve the mystery and crack the code? Let's go!

At Maisoolhof de Wilp, you will experience a new adventure full of surprises, assignments and do-things every year. During your quest, through the high corn stalks, you will discover challenging dilemmas, tough puzzles and craft activities that eventually lead to a real treasure. Taking a break from your quest? If you think nature is boring, you've certainly never had a snake around your neck or stroked a skunk. Besides feeling and seeing, you will hear and smell many animals at DoeZoo in Leens. And what about tasting them? Well... would you like a nice biscuit made of worms? This surprising zoo, just half an hour's drive from the city of Groningen, is all about insects and animals that eat insects. Emus, squirrels and frogs, for instance. ViewPancake Train
Boarding! Stap the old steam and diesel trains and imagine yourself back in time. The journey starts in Stadskanaal and takes you through the unique Groningen countryside, straight to Nieuw Buinen and back again. ViewDinopark Tenaxx
To show how trees and animals evolved together over millions of years, more than 20 life-size dinosaurs have been placed on the grounds of Landgoed Tenaxx. The trees and dinosaurs form a fascinating primal landscape. For enthusiasts, there is an exhibition of replicas, dinosaur skeletons and skulls. Some of them are from the collection of the former Noorderdierenpark zoo in Emmen. The showpieces are an impressive four-metre-high skeleton of an Albertosaurus and a full-size model of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull.

Sailing, windsurfing, supping and canoeing. Think of a water sport and on the Oldambtmeer you can do it. Unlike other lakes, the Oldambtmeer is specially built for water sports. There are over eight square kilometres of water, comparable to 1,200 football fields. More than enough space to indulge yourself, so now you just have to choose which sport to go for.
