On an adventure with the steam train
19, 22 & 26 October - During the autumn holidays it is party time for railway adventurers. Children aged up to and including 12 can ride the steam train of Museumspoorlijn STAR for free. The train runs between Veendam and Stadskanaal. During the trip, take part in a Railway Quiz and go bear hunting on the train and at the stations! Also visit the museum, where you can learn about how trains used to run in this region.

18 October-For those who have always wanted to spot seals, the adventure starts here. Stap the charter ship in Lauwersoog and sail to the Engelsmanplaat. Here it's time for a hike on this sandbank.
