Garnwerd, a terp village, is a unique part of Groningen, situated on the picturesque waterway that connects the city of Groningen with the Wadden Sea. Very picturesque indeed, because many painters of the then renowned art circle "De Ploeg" were inspired by this place. A beautiful outdoor area with a terrace, a dining room, a skipper's room, an orchard and much more. In the Doorrit located next to Hammingh there are often exhibitions, it is a nice location for your family celebration, reception, wedding, buffet or dinner. You can spend the night in B&B de Doorrit or the bridge keeper's house. At Hammingh is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am (until April 24, we are only open during the day on Wednesday. For groups and parties you can of course apply for all days of the week. Welcome to Hammingh!
