'Ollediek' is locatd on a former seadyke in Houwerzijl, one of the oldest villages of the former peninsula of the Marne.

Be surprised by the salty-sweet wadden region and come and get a breath of fresh air along the Wadden Sea, walk on the mudflats, fall dry on a sandbank, spot birds, canoe or sail on the Lsauwersmeer and the Waddensea. In the immediate viccinity, the pittoresque villages, borgen and medieval churches are a feast for the eyes and regularly the stage for cultural activities. Throughout the year there are many exhibitions, performances and events for young and old. The Burgundian student city of Groningen and the fortified city of Dokkum can be reached in half an hour by car. The ferry to Schiermonnikoog departs within cycling distance.
