How did the story of Bommen Berend go again? Why are the courtyards of Groningen so special? What are the greatest examples of Art Nouveau in the city centre? Paulien Excursions offers you a choice from a variety of themes which usually have the development of the city as a guideline. During cycling tours through the province, the focus will also be on the origins of the landscape and the heritage of Groningen. You can take a look at all of my themed walks on my website. Would you rather take a different approach? That's possible! I like to keep discovering new things myself, so I also provide tailor-made routes upon request. You could, for example, create a trip down memory lane during your family reunion, with a route that passes along places where you relive old memories.
Enthusiastic and full of surprises
Since 2002, I've had the pleasure of guiding about 35.000 people through Groningen. There aren't any endless and boring lists of dry facts during my excursions. The true stories of Groningen are way too beautiful to be ruined by those. During a walk through the city or a cycling tour through the province, I'll tell you a comprehensible tale about the origins of Groningen and how it eventually came to look the way it looks now. You'll always see things that you wouldn't have seen otherwise, even if you've lived in Groningen your whole life! One of my favourites: a walking tour in the city combined with good food. During Happen & Stappen, you’ll enjoy a full three-course dinner and in between courses, we’ll walk through the city. It's a very nice idea when, for example, you want to organise a corporate party in a relaxed atmosphere.
